2Docs Formula was originally created to safely treat Blepharitis. Blepharitis is a chronic irritation of the eyelid margins concentrated at the base of the eyelashes. Blepharitis can be caused by allergies, rosacea, eczema and/or infections. It mainly affects the skin around the lid margin but tends to spill over onto the eyes causing a type of Dry Eye Syndrome. The issue with they eyelids is that where the lashes grow, is a transition zone between skin and the mucus membrane that lines the inside of the eyelid and the eyeball itself. The eyelid skin is the most sensitive skin on the body because it’s thin and has no intradermal fat. Because of these things, blepharitis treatment needs to be very gentle to not cause more irritation to the skin but also gentle enough to go into the eyes. Of course there are conventional treatments for Blepharitis but they are problematic.

So what’s wrong with conventional treatments for blepharitis?

1.) They are CAUSTIC.  Eyelid scrubs and antibiotic ointments are the most common treatment.  After more than a week of this conventional treatment, it actually causes symptoms to worsen because of chronic mechanical irritation

2.) Steroids CAN’T be used on the eyelids and eyes for a long period of time because they thin the eyelid skin even further and can cause depigmentation and chronic topical steroid use can cause glaucoma.  Ultimately steroids don’t treat the underlying cause.

Because of these issues, we began to treat sever blepharitis and eyelid irritation with virgin coconut oil.  This worked great but not on all types of blepharitis.  Based on the previous conversation with Dr. Luka, we added propolis extract, vitamin E oil, beeswax, chamomile extract and lavender extract.  The difference was ASTONISHING.  Patients were noticing huge improvements in all the symptoms and before and after photos of the eyelid margins were incredible.  We had patients that had been contact lens intolerant for years now able to wear their contacts again.  It was amazing.

What we didn’t expect was patients coming back in asking for more 2Docs because it was improving other areas of their skin.  Patients were using it all over their face to treat their rosacea, eczema, dry skin, rough skin, small cuts and abrasions, sunburns, age spots, crows feet, as a waterproof makeup remover and as an overall facial moisturizer.

 

We honed our cream making skills (straight up breaking bad) and modified the formula to be utilized all over the face and still be safe in the eyes.  We stayed consistent with our clean and natural ingredient stance and kept the recipe all natural and organic.  We developed a natural proprietary method for extracting the Flavonoids and Phenolic Acids from propolis that do not require alcohol or propylene glycol.

 

    Each jar of 2Docs is hand made by Dr. Luka and myself, literally one at a time.  We sterilize the equipment, measure the ingredients, heat the phases, create the cream, put the cream in each container and then label each one.  We also make the Nano-Propolis from propolis we get from all over the world.  We only use propolis that is free of any industrial centers and pollution.  We also make our own nano-silver from the purest Canadian Maple Leaf silver coins.  We realize that it may be easier to have another lab do it, but we feel it’s imperative to keep the quality as high as possible and the best way to do that is to do it yourself (and we control the music :)
